Across Colley Lane Primary Academy, our student engagement strategies are at the heart of our teaching. It is important to us that we teach our children to self regulate and become metacognitive learners. Through a culture of belonging and high expectations, our children spend time thinking hard and actively participating in their learning. Our teachers utilise a range of engagement strategies in their classrooms, that enable them to maintain high expectations of: attitudes to learning; the respect that pupils have for their peers, teachers and towards the value of learning; and pupils’ commitment to thinking, responding and participating in every lesson, every day.
